Rules Question, Chasing the Rogues

Subject: Re: Cleaning up the mess; what, it wasn't a big enough mess already?

OOC: Ty: Some time back, I had Mission search Spurt, Cale and Garth; I'm assuming he didn't find anything of interest, such as weapons or whatnot, since nothing was mentioned. . .

Blood and Stone! Mission grinds his teeth, and leaps after the escaping men.

He will try to trip whichever thief is closest.

OOC again: Does the trip attack take one full round? If he's using Flurry of Blows, can Mission trip, and make one attack in the same round? If permitted, obviously this is what he wants to do. ..

And speaking of multiple attacks, if Mission is using Flurry of Blows, can he make TWO stunning fist attacks? Or does Stunning fist take the full round?

From the Open Source:

**********

STUNNING FIST [GENERAL]

Prerequisites: Dex 13, Wis 13, Improved Unarmed Strike, base attack bonus +8.

Benefit: You must declare that you are using this feat before you make your attack roll (thus, a failed attack roll ruins the attempt). Stunning Fist forces a foe damaged by your unarmed attack to make a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Wis modifier), in addition to dealing damage normally. A defender who fails this saving throw is stunned for 1 round (until just before your next action). A stunned character can't act, loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, and takes a -2 penalty to AC. You may attempt a stunning attack once per day for every four levels you have attained (but see Special), and no more than once per round. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits cannot be stunned.

Special: A monk may select Stunning Fist as a bonus feat at 1st level, even if she does not meet the prerequisites. A monk who selects this feat may attempt a stunning attack a number of times per day equal to her monk level, plus one more time per day for every four levels she has in classes other than monk.

**********

So I can only use stunning fist once per round. . . but it doesn't say anything about being able to make an additional attack with flurry of blows.

Let me know what you think, Ty.

Just for the record, Farron thinks a good trouncing-by-halfling was in order all along. Things just moved too quickly and *poof* our halfling was gone.

Farron, for an instant, is glad to see the thief gone. With no one left to lay claim, he might very well come into possession of some very valuable and powerful magic items. But as quickly as the thought crosses his mind, another follows that tells him letting the thief get away might be a Very Bad Idea, considering he might very well be in league with their quarry and on his way to warn them or enlist their aid even now. He moves to join Sa'id at the door. Like his fellow mage, he runs through his list of remaining spells and chooses his remaining Magic Missile incantation which he will use at first sight of Cale.

If they don't catch the escapees immediately, Mission won't pursue them into the forest-- they have one captive remaining, and he's leery of letting THAT one go, too.

So Mission will keep one eye on Garth-- if the big man so much as grunts, Mission will tumble away from the battle as soon as he can, and knock him silly.

OOC -- Garth shouldn't be getting up for a while. I believe Ty side probably by morning. Certainly not for a few hours anyway.

Cadfael's spell of healing dies on his lips and becomes a heated curse as Cale darts past his turned back and out into the woods.

He will quickly run after the thieves, although he has little chance of catching them in his heavy armour. If he gets close enough he'll try and tackle one of them to the ground. But he won't follow for more than a round, if they're gonge, they're gone.
