Rennik Wades In, Garyth Prepares for the Hurt

Rennik sets up on the hilltop with the arrows of his kinsman arrayed before him. He watches as Pensive stands, and stands alongside him with bow drawn. His own arrows are in the air even before the elf's shot misses its target, and he has reached for his third arrow just as the Brute turned to run.

The reach-draw-aim-release action so ingrained in his head, Rennik absorbs the action of the battle below.

The ambush was pathetic. He could not believe how poor the archers and crossbowmen in Garyth's company were that so many could blow a single, nonrushed shot. They had had all the time in the world to set and prepare, and only two shots found their target. His own, and he believed it was Garyth's. At this rate, the Brute would be down among the first group within moments, and the only ones left would be Rennik, Pensive and Robert.

Rennik's next three arrows are off in a blur of motion, two of them finding their target - but the ambush has turned to chaos. Had this soldiers no discipline? What fool general trained them in the art of battle? The Brute was the target, the *only* target. The humans were firing at random archers, doing small damage over a large number of enemies. They needed to focus their firepower on the Brute, or all would be lost.

Fools, fools, fools! The half-orc was quickly outdistancing himself from Rennik's range, and he cursed under his breath. If that double-axe reached the others, he would be witness to a rout of such violence he could hardly stand to imagine it. The only hope was that the priest could call on his god for assistance - but even that seemed a long way off.

Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the alchemist hand a soldier a potion, but disregards him. The alchemist is not a target - there is nothing he can do now that has not already been done. Either the soldiers will take the potions from the cart and use them, or they will not. There is no time to brew any new ones, which makes the alchemist's skill virtually useless.

But... if Rennik could get down to the wagon, he might be able to turn some of the alchemist's firepower against his own men.

Drawing and shooting for one last time, Rennik fires three arrows at the retreating Brute before he enters melee combat. Afterwards, he motion for Tichenor to follow as me moves to slide down the slope to the wagon.

Garyth watches his arrows fly wide of the mark and curses silently. The brute is almost on top of them now, and there is nothing standing between him and Melani. The bow drops from his hands, but before it has even had time to hit the ground Garyth has his weapons in hand [Quick Draw] and is running past Melani to intercept the brute. This is *really* going to hurt.

OOC: Garyth will move to intercept the half-orc and attack. Dodge point still on the half-orc.
